Secretary LaHood is encouraging the entire DOT family to get involved in the 2012 Combined Federal Campaign, which is holding a kickoff of the Charities Fair on Thursday, Oct. 4 starting at 10 a.m. at DOT headquarters. The goal is to raise $1.5 million by Dec. 15.

“I know that times are tough, but if you are able to give, please consider donating to the CFC,” said Secretary LaHood. In 2011, 35 percent of DOT employees contributed to the CFC. This year, I know we can do better. When we combine our efforts, our power to help those in need is truly inspiring.”

“Please join me in giving back. I plan to do that. If you choose to donate, you will find that giving is easy. Simply choose a charity in the Catalog of Caring and make a commitment through our Employee Express.”

“Thank you for giving.”
