The Library of Congress Promotes the CFC with a Charity Fair
The Library of Congress (LOC) held a charity fair in support of their 2088 Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). The event which featured over 35 CFC supported charities was held in the Madison Hall of their James Madison Memorial Building.
Joanne Jenkins, the Library's Vice Chair cut the ribbon to start the fair and later addressed the audience. "The current economic situation is all the more reason we need to give to those in need", said Ms. Jenkins. She added "I have no doubt our staff will demonstrate the generosity towards the 2008 CFC campaign".
In the next few weeks the Library will host a talent show, a white elephant sale, as well as a book and bake sale. With these kind of efforts the LOC should very well could top their $575,000 fundraising goal in 2008.
