WASHINGTON, Jan. 19, 2017 – Honorary Chair of the Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area (CFCNCA), Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh C. Johnson, announced today the campaign has collected nearly $47 million, exceeding last year’s level of contributions.  While completed pledges are still being collected and processed, this year’s campaign is outpacing last year by nearly $3.5 million.

“I would like to thank Federal employees in the National Capital Area for their generosity and commitment to the campaign and helping those in need,” said Secretary Johnson. “Your tremendous generosity demonstrates a strong belief in public service and desire to improve the lives of people in the United States and around the world. I salute you and thank you for all that you have done to make this campaign a success. I also want to recognize the many campaign workers for their hard work implementing the campaign which has greatly contributed to this achievement.”

Final results will be unveiled at the campaign finale event scheduled for March 3, 2017. This year’s results reverses the downward trend in campaign revenues in recent years. The CFCNCA is the annual workplace giving opportunity for Federal employees in the Washington metropolitan area and the largest single campaign within the Combined Federal Campaign.
