U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh C. Johnson to Serve as Honorary Chairperson for the 2016 Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area
WASHINGTON, Nov. 14, 2016 – The Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area (CFCNCA), the annual workplace giving opportunity for Federal employees in the Washington metropolitan area, today announced Jeh C. Johnson, Secretary of Homeland Security, as the 2016 CFCNCA Honorary Chairperson.
“We are privileged to have Secretary Johnson serve as our honorary chairperson for the 2016 campaign,” said Vince Micone, Chairperson of the Local Federal Coordinating Committee that oversees the campaign. “His inherent leadership and integrity offers a model for all Federal employees who aim to serve their country, both through public service and the spirit of generosity.”
As honorary chairperson, Secretary Johnson will encourage Federal employees to give to the causes that matter most to them. With a long history of supporting the campaign, he serves as an advocate for the charities participating in the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) and beneficiaries whose lives are improved by this annual tradition.
“I have witnessed firsthand the impact our Federal community can have, as we join together to support those who need it most,” said Secretary Johnson. “I encourage all Federal employees to consider the causes most important to them, and make a donation to one of the many exceptional CFC charities.”
The 2016 CFCNCA kicked off on Sept. 1 with a goal to raise $47 million for the thousands of participating charities who serve local, national and international communities. For more information about the campaign, or to make a donation, visit cfcnca.org.
