WASHINGTON, Sept. 1, 2016 – The Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area (CFCNCA) today launched its 2016 campaign and associated theme—Show Some Love. The CFCNCA is the annual workplace giving opportunity for Federal employees in the Washington Metropolitan Area. In 2015, Federal employees gave more than $46 million through the CFCNCA to support local, national and international charities.

The 2016 Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area (CFCNCA) kicked off on Thursday, September 1 with the 2016 Leadership Conference. Hundreds of campaign workers joined together at the Ronald Reagan Building to learn more about this year's campaign, hear best practices and be inspired to Show Some Love. The 2015 CFCNCA Finale event, co-hosted by Smithsonian Institution, was held on March 3 at the National Museum of American History. Federal employees gathered to experience a special Before-Hours Viewing of several Exhibitions in the museum, followed by the Awards Program in the Warner Brothers Theater. This event saw a packed house with over 300 people in attendance.
The CFCNCA Contest is an opportunity for federal departments, agencies, and reporting units to showcase creative efforts that happen during the campaign season. These include special events, written materials, and overall communication strategies. These awards recognize the individuals, reporting units, and agencies that demonstrate the theme of “I Make It Possible” and support the goals of the campaign.
The Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area will hold its Finale on Thursday, March 3, 2016, co-hosted by the Smithsonian Institution. The event will take place at the National Museum of American History, and all federal workers involved with the campaign are invited to attend.
The last day for solicitation for the 2015 Combined Federal Campaign was December 31, 2015. As we work on closing out this campaign season, other important deadlines are on the horizon. Please make note of the 2015 Campaign Closure Deadlines, such as the final day to drop off deposit bags and the last day to order awards.
The Environmental Protection Agency Office of Water held a Holiday Hike last month. The group headed to the Washington, DC Ellipse to raise money and awareness for CFC. The event had great support from agency leadership, including Deputy Assistant Administrator Betsy Shaw and ORIA OD Mike Flynn. To keep the walkers warm, hot chocolate and cider were sold, which raised nearly $70.
