Helping Families adjust to New communities

children in a computer lad A local CFC-supported charity empowers under-resourced Latino and immigrant youth, as well as their families.

Starting as a volunteer-led organization, it has grown to serve 1,100 individuals in 2017, having developed a unique inter-generational engagement model to offer leadership programs, family support, and workforce-development services in Fairfax and Arlington counties.

The organization now has two offices at local public schools; it A group of children and volunteers continues to add new services to promote family stability and cohesion, including job-readiness case management, family literacy, and reunification support for families separated during the immigration process. In 2015 and 2016, the organization was recognized as “a Bright Spot in Hispanic Education.”
