My cause is veterans. I've come across many service members, transitioning veterans, and my own soldiers, who suffered hardship and difficulty after leaving the service despite a strong work ethic and discipline.
Seeing this firsthand was the primary factor that brought this cause to my attention. Most of my soldiers went through a period of adjustment after leaving the service. Their transition was marred by challenges and difficulties due to an ever widening disconnect from resources, and a clash of cultures. I have connected many of those who suffered invisible wounds with CFC-based organizations. Those resources bridged the adjustment gap and provided a lasting sense of security and pride in them and their families.
