Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area Approximately 17 Percent Ahead of Last Year’s Pace
Nearly $14 million already raised by Federal employees for thousands of charities
WASHINGTON, Nov. 16, 2016 – The Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area (CFCNCA), the annual workplace giving opportunity for Federal employees, today announced its 2016 campaign progress has reached $13.7 million in pledges for thousands of local, national and international charities. This is about 17 percent ahead of last year’s pace at this point in the campaign. The campaign goal this year is $47 million.
“We are on track to meet or exceed our fundraising goal as of today,” said Vince Micone, Chairperson of the Local Federal Coordinating Committee that oversees the CFCNCA. “This progress is a testament to the generosity of the men and women working for the Federal government, and also represents the hard work and dedication of campaign workers who inspire each of us to Show Some Love to the causes that mean the most to us.”
There has also been great reception to and interest in the campaign theme this year—Show Some Love—which focuses on causes important to Federal employees. Employees are being encouraged to donate to the causes they care about most through the CFCNCA—whether one is passionate about disaster relief, for events such as Hurricane Matthew, veterans, education, medical research, animal welfare or any other worthy cause, the campaign has a charity for each person to support.
The Show Some Love theme is incorporated throughout campaign materials and events, and is being highlighted in four promotional days which engage donors through social media and encourage employees and the public to share their support using #ShowSomeLoveCFC.
