ARS Kickoff and Mac 'n' Cheese Lunch

ARS 2015 Kickoff
The Agricultural Research Service, a division of USDA, held a 2015 CFC Kickoff and Mac 'n' Cheese Lunch at the National Agricultural Library earlier this week.  The audience heard from Dr. Simon Liu (Associate Administrator of ARS) and Shannon Hamm (LFCC Member) on the mission, importance, and positive impact of CFC on our community. The attendees were also able to hear presentations from six inspiring charities, and over $550 was raised at the event!
 

U.S. Parole Commission Karaoke Contest

The U.S. Parole Commission (a division of the Department of Justice) took a creative approach to Million Dollar Monday on October 19. USPC staff competed in a lively karaoke competition! Two employees dressed up as Lucious and Cookie Lyon — characters from the popular TV show "Empire" — and awarded the winner with a "recording contract." Congratulations to the USPC team for holding such a unique event!

TIGTA 2015 Kickoff

The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) CFCNCA Kickoff was held earlier this month. The ceremony featured a Color Guard and a Naitonal Anthem singer, as well as two charity speakers.

NASA 2015 Kickoff

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration held their 2015 Campaign Kickoff last week.  The agenda was packed with invigorating speeches from federal leadership, including Jay M. Henn (Executive Director, Headquarters Operations), Charles F. Bolden (NASA Administrator), and Thom Ingles (CFC NASA Loaned Executive).  The keynote speaker was Vince Micone, CFCNCA LFCC Chairperson.  Mr.

Cardozo Educational Campus JROTC Color Guard

The Environmental Protection Agency held their kickoff earlier this month for the 2015 Campaign.  The kickoff started with a keynote address and other speeches, including remarks from Vince Micone, CFCNCA LFCC Chairperson.  Other VIPs in attendance included Stan Meiburg, Acting Deputy Administrator, and Mathy Stanislaus, OSWER Assistant Administrator.  The event wrapped up with a charity fair.  The EPA is on its way to making it possible!

BBG Celebrates Jeans & Jersey Day

BBG Team at Jeans and Jersey Day

The Broadcasting Board of Governors eagerly took part in last week's campaign-wide Jeans and Jersey day!  The participants showed their CFC spirit by wearing favorite their pair of jeans and their favorite sports jersey. The BBG team learned more about the 2015 CFCNCA, and they were given the opportunity to donate.  Attendees included Jeffrey Trimble, the IBB Deputy Director/IBB Director of the Office of Performance Review, and Mark Prahl, the Associate Director for Operations/Voice of America.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture held their 2015 Campaign kickoff earlier this month at USDA Headquarters.  The event featured remarks from prominent government officials, including Secretary Tom Vilsack.

CFCNCA Headquarters Closed September 23 - 24

Due to this week's Papal Visit in Washington, DC, the CFCNCA Offices will be closed on Wednesday, September 23 and Thursday, September 24. We will resume normal business hours on Friday, September 25.
